Community Solar project in Rensselaer County

This project sits on approximately 26 acres of prime agricultural land, 15 acres of which are” within the fence.”  The land had been growing fallow for several years to do the cessation of farming activity.  Now, the land will be kept clear, supporting local animals and producing clean electricity for the local utility grid.

Despite poison ivy vines everywhere, the crew managed a successful installation spanning much of 2026.  Live power is expected to be flowing from the generation facility by the end of 2026.  Along the banks of the Wynantskill Creek lies this 3.9 MW photovoltaic facility.  It is expected to outlive many of the crew members shown in the photo.  PV modules have a life expectancy of over 50 years!  No moving parts!
Many thanks to all of our partners who helped in the creation of this project site.
