EV Solar Carports
Are you buying or do you already own and electric vehicle? High Peaks Solar is now offering a solar carport with integrated EV charger! There are several options in the design of these carports to consider:
- Steel/aluminum construction or wood construction
- Open sided carport or enclosed garage
- Parking space and charging stations for 1, 2, or more vehicles
- Different orientations of the parking spot opening versus the roof pitch/solar window
High Peaks Solar can work with you to custom design a solar carport/charging station to match your EV and the amount of driving you do. There are variety of EV charger sizes to choose from.
Any access electricity generated by the carport will contribute to your home’s electricity bill.
Example 1:
2022 Chevy Bolt EV, post and beam wooden 21 module carport, 7600 watts, 50 amp charger
This scenario would cover on average 2500 miles of driving every month. Any excess power would be used by the home or sent to the grid and applied as a credit on your power bill. The EV charger would charge the vehicle in 4-6 hours.
Example 2:
2022 Ford Lightning, steel 24 module carport, 9600 watts, 80 amp charger
This scenario would cover on about 1900 miles of driving every month. Any excess power would be used by the home or sent to the grid and applied as a credit on your power bill. The EV charger would charge this vehicle in about 6 to 10 hours.
